ABOUT

Emily Dukes is a singer-songwriter, film composer, and violinist born in Milan, Italy. Introduced to music at an early age by her parents, she began piano lessons at just four years old and took up the violin at six. By the age of eight, she discovered her true passion—songwriting—through a composition class that would shape the course of her life.

At ten, Emily was accepted into the prestigious Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan, where she studied violin and viola for nine years. Inspired by the storytelling of The Beatles and classic folk songwriters, she taught herself guitar during her teenage years, expanding her musical palette while juggling orchestral rehearsals and recitals.

In 2010, after attending the Berklee Umbria Jazz Clinics in Perugia, Emily earned her first scholarship to the Berklee Five-Week Summer Performance Program, this time for voice. Her ongoing connection with Berklee culminated in 2015 when she was accepted into the undergraduate program with a violin scholarship, ultimately earning her degree in Film Scoring. That same year, she appeared on X Factor Italia, making it to the Chair Challenge round and performing at Milan’s Forum di Assago.

During her four years at Berklee, Emily performed in every major venue in Boston alongside artists such as Jacob Collier, Wang Leehom, and MARO. Between 2015 and 2020, she participated in over 300 recording sessions as a violinist, vocalist, and composer. After graduating in 2019, she moved to Los Angeles, working as a performer, music educator, and intern assistant to Emmy-winning film and TV composer Trevor Morris (Vikings, Olympus Has Fallen, Vikings: Valhalla) at Warner Bros.

In late 2019, Emily performed with her band at Mexico City’s Discos Diablito Festival. The following year, she released her debut single, “Call Me By Your Name,” produced by Réunion-based artist Matheo Techer, followed by “Sober” in 2020, produced by Australian producer Jim Alxndr.

Since 2021, Emily has been collaborating with sync licensing companies such as Marmoset, Closer Music, and Cézame, often working alongside French producer Noé Zagroun. Together, they form the duo Pastek & Dukes, releasing a string of well-received singles and currently working on their debut EP.

Now based in Paris, Emily continues to develop her voice as an artist, blending her classical roots with a modern, cinematic sound.
